What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that the sites visited by the user send directly to his terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored to be then retransmitted to the same sites at the next visit of the same user (i.e.. first-party cookies). During the navigation on a site, the user can also receive on his terminal cookies of different sites or web servers (i.e. third-party cookies); this happens because on the website visited may be present elements such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains that reside on servers other than the one on which the requested page is located. In other words, they are those cookies that are set by a website other than the one you are currently visiting.
Cookies may have a limited duration to a single browsing session on the browser (i.e. browsing cookie or session), and in this case they are automatically deactivated when the browser is closed by the user; or may have a predetermined deadline and, if so, will remain stored and active in the user’s hard disk until such expiry date, continuing to collect information during different browsing sessions on the browser (i.e. permanent cookies).
Cookies are used for different functions. Some are necessary to allow you to browse a site and use its features (i.e. technical cookies). Others are used to allow you to browse based on a number of selected criteria, such as language (i.e. functionality cookies). Others are used to obtain statistical information, whether in aggregate or not, about the number of users accessing the site and how the site is used (i.e. analytical cookies). Others, finally, are used to trace a user profile and display advertisements on the site that may be interesting for the user, as consistent with his tastes and consumption habits (i.e. profiling cookies).

Cookies used on the Site.

The Site uses the following cookies:

  • technical cookies, strictly necessary for the operation of the Site;
  • analytical cookies, which allow you to understand how the Site is used by users;
  • third party profiling cookies, used for the own purposes of such third parties, aimed at creating a user profile in order to send you advertising messages in line with your preferences expressed in the context of navigation.

Management of cookie preferences.

You can authorize, block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of your navigation program (i.e. browser).
To know the details on how to set preferences on the use of cookies through your browser, you can see the instructions.
Below are the links to the instructions on cookies of the main browsers:

You can also, below, modify or revoke your consent, inhibiting or not the installation of one or more categories of cookies, except for technical cookies that are necessary for the navigation of the Site, to view its content and use its services.
If you do not wish to receive technical cookies, please do not use the Site.
The non-authorisation of other cookies does not, however, affect the operation of the Site.
